Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement Execution

  • Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders in line with procurement procedures.
  • Source and obtain quotations for required materials, chemicals, and services.
  • Evaluate supplier offers on the basis of cost, quality, lead time, and compliance.
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Handle urgent and emergency procurement requests to minimize downtime.

Supplier & Contract Management

  • Maintain regular communication with approved suppliers and contractors.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation, performance monitoring, and compliance checks.
  • Support negotiations for pricing, delivery schedules, and terms under the guidance of the Procurement Manager.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records and update the approved vendor list.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare purchase orders, service orders, and related documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement and quality standards (including ISO requirements).
  • Coordinate with finance for invoice verification, payment processing, and budget control.
  • Maintain procurement files, contracts, and documentation for audit readiness.

Operational Coordination

  • Work closely with O&M and maintenance teams to understand procurement needs.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for chemical and hazardous material procurement.
  • Provide periodic procurement status reports to the Procurement Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in utilities, desalination, water treatment, or industrial O&M sectors.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, and supplier management.
  • Experience in purchasing technical materials, spare parts, and chemicals preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is desirable.
  • CIPS certification or equivalent is an advantage.
