About the role We're looking for a senior design leader to head the Concept Design Unit at a leading architecture firm in Cairo — the creative engine behind their early-stage architectural output. You'll own design narrative, spatial strategy, and team direction from brief to handover, ensuring every concept delivered is original, compelling, and built to carry forward.
Key responsibilities Lead concept design — Define architectural narrative, massing, spatial logic, and façade direction across projects and competitions. Manage the unit — Direct senior and junior architects, allocate workload, coach designers, and build a high-performance design culture. Own quality control — Review all concept outputs before director escalation. No generic or visually weak work leaves the unit. Present to clients — Lead design presentations and workshops. Translate architecture into business and user experience language. Cross-team coordination — Align with Urban, Landscape, 3D, AI, and Technical teams to deliver rich, coherent concept packages.
Requirements Education Bachelor's in Architecture (required). Master's in Architecture or Urban Design preferred.15–17 years of total professional experience in architecture design in these sectors: Commercial developments, residential developments, Mixed use projects, medium to large scale projects. Hospitality experience is preferable. At least 5 years in concept design leadership, front-end design development, or design management roles. Demonstrated experience leading concept design for medium to large-scale projects. Proven experience in architecture firms, multidisciplinary consultancies, or design-led practices with strong conceptual output.
Software Auto CAD, Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). AI design tools a plus. Key skills Strong conceptual thinking, spatial planning, façade sensibility, design storytelling, and team mentoring.
