Role Purpose

The Procurement Engineer (Civil) is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and expediting civil construction materials, subcontractors, and services in line with project requirements, budget, and schedule. The role ensures compliance with technical specifications, contractual terms, and company procurement policies.

Key Accountabilities

• Procurement & Purchasing
• Source and procure civil materials (concrete, steel, formwork, finishing materials, etc.) in accordance with project specifications.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate technical and commercial offers, and prepare comparison sheets.
• Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare purchase orders and contracts in coordination with procurement management.
• Technical & Project Coordination
• Review drawings, BOQs, and specifications to ensure accurate procurement quantities.
• Coordinate with site, planning, and technical teams to meet project schedules.
• Ensure materials comply with approved material submittals and consultant requirements.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Management
• Identify, evaluate, and develop qualified suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and cost.
• Handle procurement-related issues, claims, and discrepancies.
• Cost Control & Documentation
• Support cost-saving initiatives and value engineering proposals.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor databases.
• Prepare procurement status reports and follow up on deliveries and expediting.
• Compliance & Policies
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and contract terms.
• Support audits and ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in procurement within a construction or contracting company.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, subcontracting, and local suppliers.
