About the Role
We are hiring for one of our clients, a healthcare AI organization developing clinical decision-support tools for vision care. This role applies clinical ophthalmology expertise to reviewing and validating ophthalmic data, supporting the development of safe, accurate, and responsible medical AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and annotate ophthalmology clinical notes, imaging reports, and EHR data.
- Identify diagnoses, clinical findings, and treatment pathways.
- Audit annotations and verify AI-generated outputs for medical accuracy.
- Provide structured feedback on model performance, edge cases, and errors.
- Contribute to annotation standards, documentation, and onboarding materials.
- Support quality assurance processes for ophthalmic datasets.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with specialization in Ophthalmology.
- Board-certified or board-eligible.
- Active medical license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in medical and/or surgical ophthalmology.
- Strong knowledge of ocular disease, imaging modalities (OCT, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography), and treatment workflows.
- Familiarity with ophthalmic EHR systems and medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED).
- Interest or experience in clinical informatics, data annotation, or medical AI is a plus.
Work Arrangement
- On-site role based in San Francisco, CA.
- Flexible scheduling suitable for practicing clinicians.
- Hourly contract engagement with part-time commitment.
