Scope of the Role

The Architectural Design Manager is responsible for leading the design team and developing the architectural vision of projects from concept to final approval. The role involves supervising the creative and technical quality of design outputs, ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and project goals. This position ensures the integration of design with functional and executable aspects and coordinates with other engineering departments.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Creative & Technical Leadership:

  • Oversee the development of architectural concepts and designs in alignment with the company’s vision and aesthetic standards.
  • Guide the design team through ideation, 3D modeling, and concept drawing stages.

Design Management & Development:

  • Ensure a balance between creativity, technical accuracy, and functional feasibility in all designs.
  • Review and approve all architectural design deliverables before submission to clients or regulatory authorities.

Coordination & Review:

  • Coordinate with other engineering departments (structural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure safe and integrated design solutions.
  • Review client and consultant feedback and integrate it effectively into the design process.

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead and mentor architects and designers to ensure quality performance and efficiency.
  • Evaluate team performance and identify training and professional development needs.

Representation & External Relations:

  • Represent the department in meetings with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of architectural presentations for new project proposals.

Professional Qualification & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university (Master’s degree in Architectural Design is preferred).

· Minimum of 16 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 8 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

· High proficiency in architectural design software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion or Enscape, and MS Office.

· Full knowledge of local and international design standards and codes.

· Excellent command of English (spoken and written); proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
