The Professional Services (PS) team delivers post-sales services to Gigamon’s customers and partners with our technology and service solutions for positive business outcomes. Working for the Professional Services team, the PS Engineer is responsible for identifying and optimizing deployment alternatives for our network visibility solutions, security guidance, and other relevant services.
Desired skills/qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in operational design and deployment of network management tools/applications in wide-scale networking and/or virtualized networking as applied to mobile networks / Service Providers/Enterprise/government use-cases.
Strong working knowledge of network/element management and network security in mobile networks / Service Providers / Enterprise/government use-cases.
Working experience with Python, Java, C, REST APIs, and practical application of SDKs is a plus.
Demonstrated very good knowledge in TCP/IP, L2/L3 protocols, IPv4, IPv6, QoS/CoS, SDN, NFV, and SNMP.
Working knowledge of current virtualization software, tools, protocols, and standards, including vCenter, VMware ESXi/NSX-T, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
Working knowledge of any public/private cloud environment: Amazon EC2, Azure, OpenStack / other cloud platforms
In-depth knowledge of security defense principles – confidentiality, integrity, and availability – and how they apply to different technologies.
Practical Knowledge of Cybersecurity / Information Security standards and policies such as ISO 27001/27002, CIS, NIST, and others.
