Job Title: Draftsman (AutoCAD & Shop Drawings)Department: Engineering / DesignReports To: Design Engineer / Project Engineer / Technical ManagerLocation: Cairo, Egypt Job Purpose:

To prepare accurate and detailed AutoCAD drawings, including shop drawings, layouts, sections, and as-built drawings, in compliance with project specifications, design standards, and client requirements. The draftsman supports the engineering and site teams by providing clear, coordinated, and timely technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drawing Preparation:

• Develop and prepare AutoCAD drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for architectural, structural, and MEP works as required.
• Ensure drawings are prepared in line with project specifications, design codes, and company standards.
• Update and revise drawings as per the engineers’ or consultants’ instructions.

• Coordination:

• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project teams to gather technical details and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure all drawings are properly coordinated across disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).

• Documentation:

• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and transmittals.
• Ensure version control of drawings and timely submission to consultants or clients.
• Prepare as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions.

• Quality and Accuracy:

• Review design inputs for completeness and accuracy before drafting.
• Identify and highlight any design or dimensional inconsistencies.
• Follow company CAD standards and maintain a consistent drawing format.

• Support Functions:

• Assist engineers during design development, tender, and construction stages.
• Participate in design coordination meetings when required.
• Support quantity take-off and estimation through drawings when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering firms.
• Software Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D).
• Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical detailing.
• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans.
• Knowledge of building codes and drafting standards.
