Job Responsibilities:

HESQ

  • Adhere to applicable legislation, Yara's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)policies, and the Golden Rules.
  • Lead maintenance team in the implementation of Safe by choice and improvement of HESQ culture.
  • Report any safety-related incidents, accidents, environmental breaches,hazardous conditions, or near-misses.
  • Participate actively in incident and accident investigations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for production activities and ensure control measures are implemented.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, safety equipment, and designated workwear.
  • Adhere fully to the Yara Permit To Work system and follow protocols of Management of Change (MOC)
  • Monitor and enforce the correct use of all necessary PPE, safety equipment and designated workwear.
  • Support in process safety studies and framework implementation
  • Serve as a role model for safety compliance and operational discipline.

People Management

  • Supervise all maintenance Engineers, operatives and contractors.
  • Ensure team members are well-trained, competent, and clear on their responsibilities.
  • Identify training needs and support the continuous development of staff.
  • Manage manpower allocation to ensure full coverage of shifts, breaks, training,and absences.
  • Conduct onboarding and safety inductions for all new maintenance staff.

Operations

  • Oversee the Operations with all on-site maintenance activities by implementing effective planned and preventive maintenance routines and responding promptly to unplanned breakdowns
  • Lead the maintenance strategy, ensuring alignment with production needs and global Yara standards.
  • Have the Ability to plan maintenance budgets and discuss priority investments for the plant
  • Follow a Work Order system to conduct preventive maintenance and maintain asset integrity.
  • Plan for Major turnarounds and maintenance during micro stops
  • Enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by actively working to boost plant reliability and availability
  • Oversee the computerized preventive maintenance system, ensuring that allassets are recorded and that work orders are generated for both routine and non-routine tasks.
  • Assist in controlling the procurement and inventory of maintenance spare parts and equipment
  • Ensure shift reports, maintenance logs, and operational KPIs are accurately maintained.
  • Support implementation of Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
  • Maintain technical records and documentation accurately, including but not limited to Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Electrical and Instrumentation diagrams, site plans, and equipment manuals
  • Support the project manager in ongoing and upcoming projects by providing technical assistance where necessary.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical orotherrelated fields.

Experience

  • Ideally with Management experience gained within a similar production environment.
  • 7-10 years in a process-oriented manufacturing environment (e.g., fertilizer,chemical, or oil and gas)
  • Experience in automated production systems and safety compliance is highly desirable
  • Able to produce, read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID’s and engineering drawings

  • Good communication skills–both written and verbal.

  • Good level of IT competence
  • Highly motivated and proactively engaging in continuous improvement endeavors.
