Job Description

Reports to: IT Director


Job Summary:


We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled API Support and QA Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our partners and clients, providing exceptional support for our APIs. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, managing partner accounts within our database, and rigorously testing our services and APIs to ensure they meet our high standards of quality. The ideal candidate will work closely with our development team to ensure a seamless integration experience for our clients and contribute to the overall quality of our products.


Key Responsibilities:


API Support:

* Provide timely and effective technical support to partners and clients via email, phone, and other support channels.

* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API integration and functionality.

* Assist clients with understanding and implementing our APIs, including best practices.

* Read and analyze API logs to identify and resolve issues.

* Manage partner and client accounts directly in our MySQL database, including creating, editing, and configuring accounts.

Quality Assurance:

* Develop and execute test plans for our APIs and services to ensure they meet functional requirements and quality standards.

* Perform manual and automated testing to identify, document, and track defects.

* Create and maintain test cases, test data, and testing documentation.

* Collaborate with the development team to communicate test results, reproduce bugs, and ensure issues are resolved.

* Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.


General:

* Document and track client issues, resolutions, and feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement.

* Create and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles to assist clients.

* Serve as a liaison between our customers and product engineers.

Skills

Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent work experience, coding bootcamp attendance, or significant self-learning in a relevant area will be considered.


Technical Skills:

* Strong understanding of APIs, including RESTful and SOAP protocols.

* Proficiency in reading and understanding API documentation.

* Experience with reading and interpreting application logs for troubleshooting.

* Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with database management systems, specifically MySQL. The ability to write queries to manage and manipulate data is essential.

* Experience with API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar is required.

* Knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
