Job description
- Implement the QAQC procedures for MEP systems throughout the construction phases of the high-rise project.
- Review and approve MEP drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents and local building codes (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other relevant authorities).
- Prepare Method statements, ITP and checklist for MEP Systems.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments of MEP installations, ensuring that all work adheres to the approved standards and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate and oversee MEP systems' testing and commissioning activities, ensuring that all systems are tested for functionality, safety, and performance according to project specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation of all testing and commissioning activities, and resolve any issues that may arise during these processes.
- Work closely with the construction team, project managers, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth integration of MEP systems into the building.
- Attend coordination meetings, provide technical support, and address any technical or quality-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, non-conformities, corrective actions, and quality audits related to MEP systems.
- Prepare and submit regular QAQC reports to management, highlighting potential risks, deviations from the plan, and any corrective actions taken.
- Ensure all MEP works comply with local regulatory requirements, Dubai Municipality guidelines, and international building codes.
- Review and update quality control procedures based on project changes, industry trends, and evolving regulatory requirements
Skills
- Identify, investigate, and resolve any non-conformance issues related to MEP installations, providing recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the resolution of on-site issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing project delays and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an MEP QAQC Engineer in the construction of high-rise buildings or large-scale commercial projects.
- Proven experience in managing the quality assurance and quality control of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, etc.) in a construction setting.
- Familiarity with Dubai building codes and standards (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, etc.) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, materials, methods, and techniques.
- Familiarity with MEP design and shop drawings, as well as proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and construction documents.
- Proficient in using QAQC software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Full-time position based on-site in Dubai, UAE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Will require on-site inspections and occasional visits to subcontractor facilities or suppliers.
