Job Purpose:
- Responsible for ensuring compliance of hospital staff with the infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and guidelines approved by the infection prevention and control committee.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement policies that help reduce the infection rate and educate and train staff.
- Provide effective leadership in implementing medical asepsis measures to prevent the transmission of infection.
- Interpret and recommend isolation policies and procedures.
- Present to the IPC Committee (IPCC) procedures to be reviewed from time to time and contribute to modifying the policies as indicated.
- Participate in outbreak investigation.
- Responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of healthcare-associated infections among patients and staff.
- Review the results of Microbiological culture and initiate appropriate isolation precautions.
- Proved in-service and in-service education related to infection prevention and control of all employees according to the educational plan.
- Contributes and participates in evaluating the infection control program and participating in the development of the annual infection control plan.
- Enter the data on surveillance, IPC rounds, and statistics for the monthly report of the infection control team and present it to the team’s first specialist.
- Participate in preparing the report of the monthly infection control committee meeting.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in one of the medical specialties (Bachelor of Medicine - Veterinary medicine - Pharmacy - Science - Dentistry - Nursing),
- Postgraduate Studies (Diploma/Master) in Infection Control is preferred.
- 3-years of experience.
