Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with strong technical expertise and proven leadership capabilities to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with engineering and people management, with a strong focus on product quality, delivery efficiency, and building a culture of ownership and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead technical decision-making and ensure sound system architecture and high-quality solutions.
  • Enforce coding standards and engineering best practices across the team.
  • Oversee code reviews and support teams in resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Contribute technically when needed (approximately 10% hands-on involvement).
  • Ensure system stability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Lead and oversee system integrations with third-party services, including Firebase, payment gateways, SMS gateways, and external service providers.
  • Ensure secure, scalable, and compliant integrations, particularly when working on government or regulated projects.
  • Collaborate with Product, Security, and DevOps teams to define integration standards, data flows, and reliability requirements.

 

Engineering & People Management:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, QA, UI/UX, DevOps).
  • Build and reinforce a strong culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and define clear individual development plans.
  • Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and necessary people-related decisions.

 

Quality, Delivery & Collaboration:

  • Enhance planning and execution efficiency to ensure high-quality delivery within defined timelines, while maintaining a healthy and sustainable work environment.
  • Ensure alignment with Agile / Scrum methodologies and continuously improve team workflows.
  • Foster effective collaboration with Product, Design, and QA teams.
  • Contribute to defining and tracking clear KPIs to measure and improve team performance.

 

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Software Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in building and delivering software systems.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role such as Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, or a similar position.
  • Strong technical background in:
  • PHP / Laravel / WordPress / Drupal
  • React / Next.js / Vuejs / Angular
  • Modern Frontend and Backend development concepts
  • Proven experience leading and managing integrations with external services such as Firebase, payment gateways, and SMS providers.
  • Experience working on or integrating systems for government, enterprise, or highly regulated environments is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of security, compliance, and data protection considerations in external integrations
  • Solid experience with:
  • Code Reviews and Coding Standards
  • CI/CD Pipelines (GitHub Actions, Ansible)
  • Unit Testing and Cypress
  • Monitoring and quality tools such as Postman and Sentry.
  • Deep understanding of Agile / Scrum practices.
  • Strong skills in:
  • Leadership and mentoring
  • Communication and decision-making
  • Managing teams with varied experience levels
  • Building high-performing engineering teams
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate professionally, read technical documentation, and collaborate effectively.
