Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.
Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Program Background
Etijah’s Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment Department operates as a dynamic force dedicated to creating enduring positive impact across Egypt. The department strategically focuses on enhancing livelihoods, fostering entrepreneurship, developing employability skills and facilitating social integration through innovative and inclusive programs.
At its core, the department aims to uplift refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and host communities by addressing immediate needs and fostering long-term resilience. Through initiatives that encompass skills development, vocational training, and employment generation, Etijah equips individuals with the tools necessary for sustainable and dignified livelihoods. Simultaneously, by promoting entrepreneurship and creating spaces for diverse communities to converge, the department not only stimulates economic growth but also nurtures a sense of inclusivity, contributing to the development of a vibrant and interconnected social fabric in Egypt.
Project Background
BEDAYAT Program Aims To Empower Refugees And Host Community Members In Greater Cairo By Enhancing Livelihoods And Promoting Social Cohesion. It Provides Support Through Two Main Tracks
Self-Employment: Helping beneficiaries establish and improve their own businesses.
Wage Employment: Providing youth with the practical and vocational skills needed to access the labor market and secure sustainable employment.
Duties And Responsibilities
The Filed Coordinator for the ” BEDAYAT ” project will be responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of project activities across targeted locations, ensuring alignment with the work plan and objectives. They coordinate closely with grassroots organizations to support outreach, training, and community initiatives. The role includes managing logistics, engaging with beneficiaries, and ensuring inclusive participation—particularly for women, youth, and persons with disabilities. The coordinator also works with the M&E team to support data collection and reporting, while maintaining quality standards and addressing implementation challenges in the field. The Filed Coordinator will assume the following key responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day implementation of project activities across the assigned locations.
Ensure smooth delivery of the three project streams (self-employment, wage employment, and social cohesion) in line with the approved work plan and timeline.
Serve as the focal point for liaising with local partner CBOs.
Monitor the implementation of training, outreach, and community initiatives in coordination with grassroots teams.
Organize training sessions, workshops, and community or sports festivals in cooperation with the technical teams.
Support logistical operations such as venue booking, transportation for beneficiaries, and procurement of training materials.
Work closely with the M&E team to ensure accurate data collection using Kobo and updating the RAIS system.
Contribute to quarterly progress and performance reports.
Ensure the inclusion of vulnerable groups, especially women, youth, and persons with disabilities, in project activities.
Monitor adherence to protection standards and nondiscrimination principles across implementation.
Follow up on the effectiveness of outreach events and support qualitative evaluation
Conduct field monitoring visits to assess service quality and recommend improvements.
Address implementation challenges on-site and propose practical solutions.
Qualification And Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
– Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in field coordination, project implementation, or development projects.
– Experience working with NGOs in field coordination and project implementation.
– Previous involvement in employment, livelihoods, youth empowerment projects is preferred.
– Exposure to field monitoring, reporting, and addressing implementation challenges.
– Experience with data collection tools, preferably Kobo Toolbox.
– Strong coordination and communication skills.
– Ability to work in the field across multiple locations.
