Job Description
The Preventive Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and managing the preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment reliability, safety, and cost efficiency. The role focuses on minimizing unplanned downtime, extending asset life, and leading maintenance teams through structured maintenance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs for all mechanical equipment.
- Create maintenance schedules, job plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Analyze equipment failure trends and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, vibration monitoring, and condition-based maintenance practices.
Asset & Reliability Management
- Maintain accurate equipment history, maintenance records, and KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability).
- Identify critical assets and define maintenance strategies based on risk and criticality.
- Support equipment life-cycle management and replacement planning.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, train, and supervise mechanical technicians and maintenance staff.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production, utilities, and engineering teams.
- Ensure contractors and external service providers comply with company standards.
Planning, Budgeting & Spare Parts
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets and control maintenance costs.
- Manage spare parts inventory, critical spares, and vendor sourcing.
- Review and approve maintenance work orders and material requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, mechanical codes, and company HSE policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe work practices (LOTO, permits to work).
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and lean maintenance initiatives.
- Recommend equipment upgrades and modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Professional certifications in maintenance or reliability (preferred).
Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial maintenance role.
- Strong hands-on experience in preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes, heat exchangers, conveyors, etc.).
- Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication management, and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with international standards (ISO, API, ASME – as applicable).
Managerial & Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make reliability-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
